Do you TinEye or is someone else TinEye’ing your images?

TinEye (http://www.tineye.com/) is a free reverse image search engine. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions.

This is a great tool for both professional and amateur photographers who want to check where their photos may or may not being used.

Here at arabianEye we tried out the reverse search with a stock image and it was very easy to use. An image was uploaded and within seconds we were given the search results. Shown below are the screen grabs of the reverse search.

Step 1: you have two options to either upload a file to the search engine or you can enter the image URL address.

    Step 2: the results.

Step 3: more information such as best match, most changed and biggest image provide photographers with even more information.

TinEye has blogged that they are even looking at incorporating automatic image alert into their free service.

“This basically would be a service that would allow TinEye users to find out of where their images are appearing on the web via an automated notification mechanism”, TinEye.
