aEye/Nokia Photo Contest: Round 1- Comment here to win!
In collaboration with Nokia we have challenged four of our best photographers to put the new Nokia N86 8MP mobile phone to the test. They will be swapping their professional cameras with these performant camera phones, and we will have them upload the best shots they’ve gotten on the broad theme of “Arabia” right here to the arabianEye blog.
The photographers who will be participating in the competition are Gerry O’Leary, Charney Magri, Siddharth Siva and Matilde Gattoni — all award-winning and accomplished photographers who will then be judged by you, the visitors to our blog! The voting should be given based on technical skill, composition and creativity; become a judge, offering your critique of the best Arabian culture shots taken with the Nokia N86, and you’ll be entered to win a Nokia N86 alongside a photography class with the winning photographer! It’s simple: judge to win.
The arabianEye – Nokia photo competition begins on the 25th of February and will last for two weeks. Check out the blog regularly as the photographers will each upload 5 pictures each over the course of these two weeks, giving you more chances to share the winning comment and feedback!

My favorite so far is Matilde’s b&w image of the pigeons — very spontaneous, moody and interesting! Not your typical camera phone shot at all. I also enjoy the colors and shapes in Gerry’s image of the Meydan race course.. So hard to pick favorites!
It’s impressive how Gerry captured those colors with just a camera phone not to talk to about the angles he surprised in this photo. I love the quirkiness in Charney’s picture as well as the true Arabian feel to Sid’s shot. Matilde’s shot I would love to hang on my home walls due to its artsy and mysterious perspective. It really tough deciding which one it is! What does everyone think?
I really enjoy Matilde’s black and white image, as it captures “Arabia” in a timeless manner.
Matilde’s black and white image is quite a striking photo. So simple yet says so much. Brilliantly captures the essence of “Old Dubai”.
I really liked the first picture. The photograph is full of life.
